Holiday Shows and Exhibitions 2014

Two weeks until Christmas! A little less than two weeks left to do your holiday shopping. If you're looking for a unique gift for someone, a plein air oil painting would be a gift to enjoy for a lifetime! Evergreen Framing Co. & Gallery in Salt Lake City is showing several of my plein air oil paintings, plus a wide variety of works by other Utah artists.

The picture at the top of this post shows some of the paintings I have at Evergreen Framing Co. & Gallery, along with some paintings by David Meikle and works by other artists. The image directly above is another angle of some of those paintings.

The third image shows a few of the paintings I have at the Window Box Gallery in Provo. As with all the galleries showing my paintings, the Window Box Gallery also has a wide variety of works by several artists. They include Kimbal Warren, part of whose painting shows in the lower left of the above photograph. The picture below is a closeup of a couple paintings of mine at the Window Box Gallery.

More of my paintings can be found at Logan Fine Art Gallery in Logan, Utah, and at Juniper Sky Fine Art Gallery in Ivins, Utah (near St. George). Click on any of the links in this post for more information about these galleries. If you're able to visit one or another of the galleries, you might find an original painting of mine that would make a wonderful gift for someone on your list, or for yourself!

Two New Plein Air Shows Opening

Early Autumn Rain 16" x 20" Oil on Canvas Panel
Two plein air shows are opening tonight (October 4, 2013) in Provo. I have paintings in both of them.

The painting shown above was painted yesterday and is my entry in "Plein Air Provo 2013" at Terra Nova Gallery. The Show opens this evening at 6:00 PM and runs through he 25th of October. Terra Nova is located at 41 West 300 North in Provo, Utah. For more information you can visit their website: http://www.terranovagallery.com/

The Window Box Gallery has two new paintings of mine in their plein air exhibit, which also opens tonight and runs through the month of October. The Window Box Gallery is located at 62 W Center St. in Provo, Utah. You can find more information by visiting their website: http://www.windowboxgallery.com/

Both shows highlight local painters and are sure to be great! The Window Box Gallery and Terra Nova Gallery are located relatively close to each other and are on this evening's "Downtown Provo Gallery Stroll". You can visit both gallery's show openings, and while you're out you can visit other local galleries and enjoy an early autumn evening out on the town!

Holiday Exhibits, 2012

Today, December 7, 2012, is "First Friday Gallery Stroll." Galleries stay open later than usual on the first Friday of every month so patrons can spend an evening going from one gallery to the next, enjoying the artwork on display. The gallery stroll is free, and while you're out you could have dinner at a local restaurant, or visit some of the other attractions in your town. You might even find some artwork that would make great gifts!

Here are galleries that have some of my paintings for sale:

The End is Near!

The end of my show at the Window Box Gallery, that is. There's just a couple days left to see it. You can read an earlier post about this show here.

There's some red dots (denoting sold works) but there's still plenty for art collectors to choose from. These are oil paintings painted alla prima en plein air. (I love using French words!) They're paintings of local landscapes, some painted in beautiful places just outside of town. I hope these paintings will encourage people to enjoy and take care of the wonderful natural places we have here locally.

Although the show ends Thursday, May 3rd, I hope to continue to work with the Window Box Gallery and encourage you to visit their gallery from time to time to enjoy the artwork. The gallery is located at 62 West Center Street in Provo, Utah. Au revoir!

Window Box Gallery Show

A new show opens this Friday, April 6, at the Window Box Gallery in Provo, Utah. The gallery is located at 62 West Center Street. Fourteen of my plein air landscape oil paintings will be on exhibit there through the month of April. All paintings are for sale. The opening reception will be this Friday from 6 to 9 PM.

In conjunction with the reception is the First Friday Gallery Stroll and Art Chase. Art chase might sound like the art is running away and you have to catch it, and that would make a really cool exhibit, but it's actually a kind of "scavenger hunt". Several galleries in the Center Street - University Avenue area take part in this. It's looks like a lot of fun. As I understand it, participants pick up a card at a local "Art Chase" gallery (like Window Box Gallery), and go from gallery to gallery following clues on the card. As they find the artworks in question they get their card stamped or punched. Their completed card then goes into a drawing for prizes. I've never been an art "chaser" but this Friday one of my paintings gets to be one of the "chased"! You can call the gallery at 801-377-4367 for more details.
